Scholarships and Internships
The Office of the Associate Vicechancellor for Scholarships and Internships provides the opportunity for active students to request special scholarships and permits students to participate in academic-professional and research opportunities in different companies and educational institutions globally. The activities promoted by this office complement the student’s academic development and allow the development of professional abilities and personal skills to be integrated successfully in the work force. It also assists talented high school students in completing their university studies in the SUAGM. This program is funded by corporate, private, public, and institutional funds.
Scholarships designed for freshmen students, graduating from high schools, who have obtained a grade point average of 3.30 or more. Candidates are required to achieve at least 1,550 points combined in the College Board totaling the scores in verbal comprehension, math and english. According to the economic need of the student, the Honor’s Scholarship can cover the total cost of enrollment for the semester or complement additional economic assistance.
Permanent Scholarships Fund
These scholarships are the result of donations from companies or individuals committed to education. The Ana G. Méndez University, Gurabo Campus has the support of several highly recognized local and international organizations that help the development of its students.Scholarships are awarded to talented students of the University, with limited resources, whose average is 3.50 or more and who are in their third year onwards.
Public and private organizations offer scholarships to college students in economic needs. To apply and receive these scholarships, students must comply with the requirements established by the agency or institution.
Internships takes place in public and private companies, universities and government agencies, among other organizations. Since 2001, more than 4,000 students have participated as interns in Puerto Rico, the United States, and other countries. Through these experiences, students developed their capabilities and increase their commitment to their academic and professional AGMUS has focused its internships program on prestigious universities specialized in researched.
